Useful Apps For Your PC

Want to discover some useful apps? Things that you didn’t even know that you where missing out on? Well read on to find out more.

1) TeraCopy

What is TeraCopy?  It’s an amazing tool that’s completely free!  It makes copying, moving and everything in between just that bit easier (and more secure).

Everyone has experienced the less than impressive function that is Windows File Explorer.  Taking anywhere between 1 second to 1 millennium to complete a transfer.

When it’s not running slow, it’s failing to copy/ relocate your precious data.  This is where TeraCopy comes into play.  If it runs into an error with a file, instead of cancelling the entire transfer it will just quarantine whatever files failed to transfer.  This makes your life a whole lot easier.

TeraCopy is available for download here.

2) Google Authenticator

Google Authenticator is one of the most useful and accessible 2FA apps to date. It spreads the reach of security to every corner of your device.

If you’re not sure what it is, or even what 2FA is then I will briefly explain.

2FA (2 Factor Authentication) is a method of password/ login security. This is useful in cases such as: A hacker gets your password.

Usually if someone had access to your password, they would be able to gain immediate access to your account. This can be troublesome. Especially in important applications such as your online banking, or even something such as Steam.

2FA makes it so that anyone who inputs your password will also have to input a random code such as ‘XDF565FD‘. This is something that a hacker wouldn’t be able to guess. They would have to have access to your device that has your 2FA app on.

Google Authenticator is a 2FA application, allowing you to use a code given directly from Google.

Google Authenticator is available on the app store or here.

3) LogMeIn Hamatchi

Ever heard of LogMeIn Hamachi? Most likely not. Don’t let that downplay just how powerful an application it is though.

Ever found yourself in a situation where you want to play on a private server with your friends? Well, sometimes that isn’t possible due to network/ ISP restrictions.

LogMeIn Hamachi allows you to create your own private network, allowing you to host servers without the use of port forwarding.

This is useful because not everyone has access to their Default Gateway (Internet settings). So port forwarding isn’t an option for everyone.

LogMeIn Hamachi is available here.

Did you think any of these apps were useful?
